Trauma lives in our bodies as if it is happening today.

Let’s put trauma where it belongs – back to when it happened.
As a memory of long ago.

About

About

I am a life-long learner, who knows what I don’t know and I believe that each person is an expert in his/her/their own life.

Each person has the strength and resiliency to transcend “limiting” past events to embrace a flourishing life. Using curiosity, open-mindedness, and willingness to experiment I invite you to collaborate with me on your road to healing through self-discovery. I use mindfulness and body-based practices along with cognitive based modalities to explore, understand and resolve difficulties, views of yourself and others, learn how to regulate your body, and turn emotionally painful experiences into coherent memories of the past.

My hope is that you realize that you are more than your past, that you learn how to forgive yourself and shed the limiting beliefs that hold you back from who you are meant to be. So that when you end therapy with me, it is because you are no longer holding past trauma as if it is still with you today, have the confidence and belief in yourself, and the tools you’ve learned to handle anything that comes your way.

A bit about me

My work is not forceful. You are not a problem to be “fixed.” Through curiosity, mindfulness, and a willingness to try new things, we can promote change.

Criticism, judgment, and pathologizing are not part of my treatment model. I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is a necessary  foundation for healing. It creates a safe space for your unique self to emerge. I ascribe to the idea that healing and intelligence come from within you. You have the answers to heal within you. I am your instrument to access those answers. We are all connected and interdependent, while at the same time holding individual and group differences. I consider the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — in context, rather than working with these elements separately. Through mindful study, I encourage awareness of the present moment — the place where all healing occurs.

I invite you to be curious, compassionate, creative, and courageous with me on your healing journey. Therapy, like life, is an experiment where we learn what helps you heal.
